Emergency Prep Day
9/16/2006

The Emergency Preparedness Expo is designed to help Scouts by raising awareness of emergency services available in the area, helping gain information about what to do in an emergency, and making resources available that can help save lives. Their demonstrations will include vehicle crash simulators, helicopters, burn trailers, evidence recovery units, SWAT teams, bomb sniffing dogs, robots, and much, much more! Scouts will have the opportunity to complete requirements for a number of badges and awards by attending and interacting with the presenters. The day was filled with unique opportunities for Scouts to gain expert knowledge that could help them save a life whether it is from a natural disaster, car accident or someone choking. This was a fun and exciting opportunity to educate Scouts on the importance of safety through interaction and by giving them the opportunity to ask questions. Over 50 organizations, companies and individuals participed in the expo.
